This post features a few of the lip products in my stash that will be on rotation in upcoming months. I'm planning to add more fun colors to experiment with, but for now, these are helping to get me out of "winter mode!"
Wet n Wild MegaLast lipsticks in Rosebud (left) and Wine Room (right)- While not the most hydrating formula (they are matte!), these $1.99 lipsticks come in a wide range of shades and the price really cannot be beat. They wear well, too, which is great especially when you have on a particularly bright color. I love Rosebud for waking up my complexion, and Wine Room for a super-flattering punch of magenta.
ELF Studio Glossy Gloss in Fuchsia Fusion (left)- The Glossy Glosses (creative name, no?) are lovely, if you have yet to try them! I only have this shade but from what I've experienced it is non-sticky, has average wear time, and medium pigmentation. This is a great shade to pair on top of red lipsticks to tone down the color, especially if bright reds frighten you in any way!
Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry (center)- I just talked about this jumbo lip pencil in my Clinique "haul" post, but I'm loving this muted raspberry shade. It's great for when I want a little color on my lips but nothing over the top or fussy. It's moisturizing, convenient, and flattering.
OCC lip tar in Trollop (right)- These are essentially a cream lip stain. You only need a tiny bit to reach full pigmentation, and once they are in place, they set and stay put for hours. My only issue is that they can be drying.
L-R: Wet n Wild Rosebud, Wet n Wild Wine Not, ELF Fuchsia Fusion, Clinique Super Strawberry, OCC Trollop
What springtime shades are your favorite for lip products? I'd love to know and get more ideas! Thanks everyone!

Oooh, I want Wine Room and Trollop so badly! I love spring and summer for coral and coral-pink shades. I always feel out of place wearing them during fall and winter, but they are some of my favorite fun, bright colors to reach for. I also tend to use more color in my eye makeup when it gets warm; it just feels very lighthearted and summery. I can't wait for the weather to turn and to break out the sundresses and sandals!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Chanel's BOY, Clinique Super Strawberry Chubby Stick, and Clarins Instant Lip Perfector in Light Rose
ReplyDelete@Sarah- I totally agree with you about color in the warmer months- I've been going so neutral this winter! Ah, I can't wait to wear dresses without tights for once! :)
ReplyDelete@Dustyn- Chanel Boy looks gorgeous! Great picks, thanks for commenting! :)

I want to get some OCC lip tars, but every time I check them out on the website I find I want ALL of them and I just can't afford to haul like that anymore >_< choice anxiety! Trollop is gorgeous, though
ReplyDeletelovely picks hun, but are you sure that the darker wet n wild lipstick is in the shade 'wine room'? i actually think that's the shade 'sugar plum fairy'. here's a post with the two side by side. http://www.makeupbycelly.com/2011/08/swatch-wet-n-wild-mega-last-lip-color.html
ReplyDeleteThose are all so pretty! I am really getting more into the bolder pink colors and liking them. I would love to try these all out!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you, I'm ready for spring! These all look like such great spring lippies! Love Rosebud!
ReplyDeleteYou are the devil! I've tried those Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks before and thought they were total rubish (The color "Think Pink") but now you've made me lust after that "Wine Not" shade! It looks like the perfect way to rock a dark lip for the spring. xox
